Imaging spectrographs

Hyperspectral imaging spectrographs measure the reflection, emission and absorption of electromagnetic radiation for each pixel along a line simultaneously.

They provide a unique spectral signature for every pixel in parallel on the line. The spectral information can be used to identify and discriminate materials.

SPECIM was the first company to offer imaging spectrographs for research and industry.

Imaging spectrographs of the ImSpector series have become market leader for fast spectral applications due to their high optical throughput and exceptional optical quality.

Our imaging spectrographs are built of highly transmissive optical components, gratings, lenses and prisms. They are available for different wavelength ranges: Visible (380 nm-800 nm), VisNIR (400 nm-1000 nm), NIR (900 nm-1700 nm), SWIR (1000 nm-2500 nm) and MWIR (3-5 µm).

Good to know: ImSpector spectrographs do not change the polarization of light.

In combination with a detector unit of the same wavelength range and a lens to focus on the object, an imaging spectrograph is the key part of a spectral camera. ImSpector systems can easily be integrated into user setups to create either new complete systems or an open scientific setup. Our spectrographs may be integrated by the user or SPECIM (upon request).

SPECIM’s own spectral cameras take advantage of the high optical quality of the ImSpector Family.

Our imaging spectrographs for the wavelength ranges 380 nm to 800 nm and 400 nm to 1000 nm offer excellent spectral and optical performance.
Optical distortions like Keystone, smile, and aberrations are extremely small which facilitates excellent and repeatable spectral analysis over a wide line.

The spectral resolution can be as small as 2 nm.

Our imaging spectrograph for the wavelength range 3 to 5 µm covers the thermal waveband in the MWIR. The MWIR ImSpector is a unique spectrograph to be integrated with cooled InSb focal plane arrays.

ImSpector systems can easily be integrated into user setups with MWIR detectors. Integration may be done by the user or by SPECIM upon request.
