Monochromators with optical gratings for spectral dispersion are established tools in spectroscopy from the UV to the IR. And from the beginning, the classic Czerny-Turner design has proven successful. Our monochromators MSH-150 and MSH-300 are robust, high-performance measuring systems featuring highest wavelength accuracy at all grating angles and a fast grating turret traversing speed. Our monochromators are free of backlash.
Choosing the right detector and adjusting it to the detector electronics is one of the most important decisions to make when setting up an optical measurement system. From cooled to uncooled photomultiplier tubes over Si or InGaAs detectors to PbS-Si sandwich detectors for broadband applications, we cover a wavelength range from 200 nm to 40 µm. In the extended IR, we also use less common material combinations such as mercury-cadmium-tellurite (MCT) or indium-antimonide (InSb).

Coupling optics and further equipment (chopper wheels etc.) are already integrated when necessary.
System-compatible accessories are essential to performing successful measurements. And most applications require additional components. Optical fibers allow flexible coupling from monochromatic sources or lead signals to the measurement system. Collimating optics collect the monochromator's output radiance thus creating a parallel radiation beam. Integrating spheres ensure uniform radiation, a chopper and lock-in amplifier (see Detectors / Electronics) suppress interferences and enable measurements below the noise threshold.
